چکیده

Olive is one of the most important crops in Mediterranean Basin, because olive oil economic value and its role characterization rural landscape. The strong influence climatic changes on modern agriculture availability a large source genetic variability pose as crucial future challenges. Therefore, safeguarding resources becomes fundamental, not only cultivated forms ex situ collections, but also terms wild trees their natural habitat. In this study, 174 samples oleaster collected different parts Algeria were analyzed by 16 nuclear Simple Sequence Repeats (SSRs). analysis showed huge oleaster, STRUCTURE Principal Coordinate Analyses (PCoA) highlighted clusterization genotypes according to geographic origin bioclimatic conditions. Genotypes adapted harsh conditions identified, which could be useful enrich panel for breeding purposes preserve diversity species from erosion risks.

Genetic Relationships between Cultivated and Wild Olive Trees (Olea Europaea L. Var. Europaea and Var. Sylvestris) Based on Nuclear and Chloroplast SSR Markers

The olive is widely cropped in Tunisia where also oleaster trees thrive all around orchards and in natural sites. Little is known on the genetic relationships between the olive crop and oleaster trees in Tunisia. Fifty-two oleaster trees and fifteen cultivars were sampled from Tunisia. SSR genotyping was performed in polyacrylamide gels after fluorescent labeling. We used seven nuclear and two ...

Intra-specific genetic diversity in wild olives (Olea europaea ssp cuspidata) in Hormozgan Province, Iran.

Wild olive (O. europaea ssp cuspidata) plants grow in various regions of Iran and are expected to have considerable genetic diversity due to adaptation to the various environmental conditions. We examined the genetic diversity of four populations of wild olive growing in Hormozgan Province located in southern Iran by using 30 RAPDs and 10 ISSR markers. The mean value of polymorphism for RA...

Factors influencing phenolic compounds in table olives (Olea europaea).

The Mediterranean diet appears to be associated with a reduced risk of several chronic diseases including cancer and cardiovascular and Alzheimer's diseases. Olive products (mainly olive oil and table olives) are important components of the Mediterranean diet. Olives contain a range of phenolic compounds; these natural antioxidants may contribute to the prevention of these chronic conditions. C...

In Vitro Culture Conditions and OeARF and OeH3 Expressions Modulate Adventitious Root Formation from Oleaster (Olea europaea L. subsp. europaea var. sylvestris) Cuttings

Olea europaea L. subsp. europaea var. sylvestris, also named oleaster, is the wild form of olive and it is used as rootstock and pollen donor for many cultivated varieties. An efficient procedure for in vitro propagation of oleaster was established in this study. A zeatin concentration of 2.5 mg/L was effective to induce an appreciable vegetative growth. Also high rooting efficiency was obtaine...

Towards a molecular strategy for improving harvesting of olives (Olea europaea L.)

Mature olive fruit that produced barely detectable levels of ethylene produced much greater quantities when they were briefly dipped in a solution containing 2 mM 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC), the immediate precursor of ethylene. A single 10 s dip resulted in a transient increase in ethylene production that peaked 1 day after the application. When the fruits were dipped daily, th...
